I got my Dunlop D606's mounted this weekend. That rear, good GOD talk about a tough tire to mount. This things sidewall must have a peice of 1/2 steel plate in it. The front was easy.
I got every mile possible out of my old Kenda 270's. I didn't realize how badly squared off they were. Having a good round tire on the back changes the physics a lot! And to the better. I only rode about 30 miles, but I had a lot more cornering confidence. The other thing I noticed is that the bike is taller now that it has some knobs. Feels like a different machine. I didn't find that they hum as much as most people say they do, but my Kenda's front was so badly saw-toothed that it made a lot of noise by comparison.
So far I really like these tires. I only got in a short off road section and was kind of slow because of the added height. I am sure the added traction will prove quite nice. Anyway, this is only my second tire change on the KLR, but these are by far my favorite tires I have run!
