My previous Africa Twin oil looked new after 2,000mi. My 2022 klr oil is almost pitch black after only 500mi.
Don’t base oil changes on oil color.

I'll suggest that too many people are too lazy or too much of a hurry to tilt their bikes from LH to RH Several Times to drain the hollow shafts, nooks & crannies that many motorcycle engines have.

Maybe THAT is why Thailand changed the recommended oil quantity? They didn't tilt them either!

True that. I am making rear stand for the next oil change.

You will still leave a lot of old oil in the engine with vertical position only during an oil change.

After doing a vertical drain only, take it off the stand & tilt it side to side, holding the angle for a minute or two each time.
You might be surprised.
