Thought would just show some pics of a short ride Sunday afternoon, and my daughters bday present she is getting this Saturday...

Was nice being able to get out and ride, and test out the valve jobs and new crashbars with pegs. Is nice being able to extend my legs out now and ride more comfortable when my back starts aching.. I highly recommend a set.

Neat looking bike DX. My daughter needs a bigger bike this year and keeps reminding me of that. She has a TTR 90 and now for the step up to clutch and 125-140 range.

Nice bikes. When I first opened this thread I saw the pic with both KLRs and thought that was your daughters new bike! lol I remember leaning a big bicycle against the garage to get on and get it going when I was a kid, so I guess it can be done with a KLR, but stopping has to be fun! HAHA

That's the one we are thinking about. She's going to need better gear as well. At least the gear I buy now will last longer she's 13 and almost done growing.

Love those bags

DX I love those saddle bags. Where can I go and view those on the Web, and purchase them also?

Also tell me about that gel seat pad you have. Do you like it, and where can I get that also? I would like to try one of those before making the move to another seat, when time comes.

Thanks..

The link above is the site my buddy ordered the bags from.

The seat cover is a WalMart special for ATV's goes for about $14 and I cannot do without it. Keeps the backside cool in summer and is much more comfortable than just the oem seat. I cut the middle connectors off of mine as they were scratching the side plate, but that is mainly due to a weight issue of 'me', lol. If you can't find any locally, 'Paper' a member here on the site usually has some in stock he sells. He is where I got my first one from. Hope this helps.

Oh, I forgot, you may want to do a seach of my posts, we hard mounted the bags and cut all the attaching straps off for a much cleaner look and better performance. Also not sure if you noticed but we moved our turn signals to the underside of the rear rack. I have a post on how we did that too.

I'm out.. My last three migrated to Canada..:)

Check out your area Walmarts for the covers. I've never seen any here in the Midwest.. Last week I was in Zachary, LA and they had almost a dozen of them, but I was already getting charged for too much luggage for my flights, and I happened to be travelling with my boss so I didn't want to have the company get charged another $100 for excess luggage for bringing home seat covers..:character00271:

I've purchased them in this Walmart before, so they're restocking them. I also bought a bunch in VA. If you know someone in the South or Southeast, see if they can't pick you up one and have it sent to you.

Murphrm, check around in your area. I think I checked the Walmart in Thomasville, AL and I don't think they had any, but that would have been a year ago. Wander around on the bike looking for them.. That's how I found out they don't have any around me.:) If nothing else, it's fun to look.

I am pretty sure our WalMart still have a half dozen maybe, at least I saw the box with some on the shelf last week. If you can't find one, let me know.

Thanks for the info and the offer DX. I will search around Birmingham Al. as I am always riding in that direction anywho. Like you say Paper, just another excuse for me to ride somewhere. We have 3 Super WalMarts here in my home area (all within a 30 mile radius of home), surely someone will have them.
You know I seen that same cover (now I see) on a DR650 the other day and I thought, nice, must be a factory gel pad, I think it was the same pad. Cool..

Had the BDay party today, she was excited. Got home, she did great for first half hour then ran into my storage building and tore off the nice pretty front fender, LOL. Oh well, it looks better without one anyway. It is now covered in mud and dirt, the way it should be.

It is the XXL JCWhitney box. Its around a 45 liter or slightly bigger box. Have never had a single problem out of them...Three of us have them. The Givi's are great products. For severe use tho, I would suggest on of the larger Pelican boxes for the back. I think Paper has one on his. Those things are absolutely damn near indestructable. I put two smaller pelican 1430's on the side of my KLR and my buddy proceeded to gently lay my bike down on the side of a road one day, and the pelicans held the bike up and didn't show one scratch. Either way you go, I think you will be happy. We got our boxes off of Ebay.
