Hi, whilst I'm not new to motorcycles I am to the KLR650 and so I'm reading and learning as I go. My question relates to the Doohickey. My bike is a 2012 and I purchased it from the original owner with 12000km on the clock which represents quite a bit work in first the year. I should add that the bike has had all scheduled services along the way. Are the later models such as mine prone to the same Doohickey issues as the earlier KLR's or did Kawasaki learn from the thousands of complaints and fix the problem? If later is not the case should I address my potential problem sooner rather than later? Any responses appreciated...

Hi and welcome to the forum!

The lever itself is now pretty good.

The spring that tensions the system is not.

Take a look at this.
