hello friends
I am a Norwegian owner of a KL650 Tengai in Norway, and I have some trouble
with the switch which is coupled to the clutch. When I start with the clutch out
it works. When I pull the clutch, sometimes everything is dead!
Ok, I have started, pulls the clutch and put in 1. gear. when I slip the clutch, the engine dies, but only sometimes?
what is the reason of this little switch, is it to prevent starting in gear? Is there
any possibility to bypass the switch? I have also some trouble with the switch on the sidestand. What do You think folks?

how old is the bike, miles or in your case KM on it? do you ride through dirt, and other stuff that could possibly mess with the kickstand switch?

it is possible that all you need do is clean the connections at both switches, maybe clean the actual kickstand safety switch, and all will be well. its also possible that you have one of those two that works and randomly stops functioning properly.

My Tengai is from 1990, but it has only runned 32000Km and is used by adult bikers ( I am 53 and dont like dirt. Here in Norway there is a lot of reservetaions on driving outside the road; it is forbidden) . May be it is the best suggestions to bypass the problem, but I think things should be in order!

in such a case, I"d bypass them.

never knew riding OFF the roadway is forbidden in norway.

I will try to bypass them, Bob, is it fun to have a bike that you can´t trust!
Yes, we have very strong restrictions on driving beside the road. It is only allowed to drive on snow with scooters if you have permition and a job to do.
Driving for fun is only permitted on closed areas, and there is not too much of them. But we have lots of gravelroads that we can use, so you understand that dirty driving is not a problem.

no, a bike you cant trust isnt much fun. but I never trust ANY bike, just because anything may break or stop working at any given time.

its fascinating how different your home's culture and laws are from ours over here in the states.
