It's fall, the leaves are changing, and it's time to ride!

November 22nd, 9.30am departure from my house. Back road ride to Cloverdale. Pick up KLR-Zin. Head North to Geyser Road. Geyser Road to 128. 128 through the Alexander Valley to Ida Clayton Road. Ida Clayton to Middletown. Calistoga road to Calistoga, Lunch break at Buster's BBQ. Calistoga to Rutherford. Trinity Road to Sonoma. And Hwy 12 back to my place. I will try to put a map up for you all. This should be a spectacular ride (and some dirt roads too!)

I do have to ride up there you know. When we did the city ride we started at a civilized 10 am. :50:

I'm in. Looking forward to the company and the beautiful scenery. Looks like we might see some darkness. Mark did you get a new headlight bulb yet? Let me know because I might be placing an order with Twisted Throttle. They sell the PIAA. You might be able to get a better deal through Matt.

I did a US-50, Pollock Pines, Sly Park, Mormon Immigrant Trail, Silver Fork Road, Strawberry Lodge, ride earlier ths week and the Fall colors were very nice. The ride to the coast should be even better.

My weekend will begin on Friday leaving Sacramento around Noon to find my way to the Int'l Motorcycle Show in San Mateo (4:30p-9:00p) with a night over (any ideas where to stay) then back to the IMS on Saturday for a half day (9:30p-2:00p). Then a Coast ride (130 miles) up to River Road then Santa Rosa for the night with the Builders.

Ps - can't believe the forum advertisement was for North Carolina Wines. How dare they ;^)

I'm in as well. I can meet you guys anywhere- I certainly don't mind backtracking. I may have to peel a bit early depending on how the day goes. My boys will be without supervision after 3:00 and it is only a short matter of time before things get a bit "Lord of the Flies. So, that said, I will try to be home 5'ish with the conch before anyone is killed.

Lockjaw,
I have not read that recently, but I am glad to ignorantly throw out that quote as though I had. Drink a 40 for Piggy...

OK...

Dan, yes we can do your brakes before we leave. Make sure you are here at least an hour before we ride. Dave, dOOd! you were amazing at the winery on Saturday. THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping the nOObs, and pouring das vino. I forgot to pick up that other bottle of Venom, I will come up this week to do that. If you would like to back track great! If not, we will be at your house. Tim, Looking forward to it bud!

Check that, #3. Dave also offered his garage for brake changing purposes...so I figure we can do it two ways.

1) I get to Mark's at 8:30, we leave for Dave's at 9:30 with my fancy new brake pads.
2) I get to Mark's at 8:30, we leave for Dave's, do the brakes there, and then ride.

Preferences?

I think #1 would be best, that way it's done! Then we RIDE!

Cheers!

Where are we going and how long will it take? If Dave needs to be back at 5p I think all of us should be back at 5p. I don't see us getting started any earlier than 10:30a. It is at least 1 hour to the coast and 1 hour on the return trip. That leaves 4.5 hours to see what we are going to see. Can we comfortably make the trip without always being in a hurry?

If the brakes will last this ride why don't we replace them after the Wine Country Fall Color Ride.

We'll still be starting at the same time. But, if you guys like we can skip the brakes. Maybe we can take a look at them after we drop Dave off? They may even be good for a while more. Just thinking out loud...

Tim,

We are doing an inland ride, no coast. we ride to Clovertucky, then East over Geyser Road to the Alexander valley. From there we head East over Ida Clayton Road to Middletown. From there we travel South to Calistoga for lunch. Then on to Rutherford, and then West to Sonoma, via Trinity Road, then back to Santa Rosa. We should be back in plenty of time for KLR-Zin to get home. As far as the brakes are concerned... either way is OK for me!

If this is cool with Dave, let's do it this way:

Meet at Mark's at 9:30 as per the plan and then head to Dave's. Then we ride. Then, we take Dave home and stretch our legs while we work on the brake issue in Dave's lovely garage. That will give us a little butt rest time before we head home.

Very close.

Ida Clayton road turns into Western mine road and comes out at Twin Pines Casino, so D to E is a little skewed, but E to F to G is correct.
