Sold: 2000 KLR 685 in MI

KLR is at 35,916 miles, with about 15,000 on a 685.

Pre-96 bottom end with shorter gearing. I love it for that. doohickey is done.

I tried to knock the ugly off, but, it's a KLR.


The only reason to sell is the fact that I have a DRZ that is much more suited for the riding I prefer now and my son has shown no interest. I would hop on this bike to go anywhere.

I'm in MI, but might deliver within a few hours for the right price. The Tenere is up on the block as well.

Thanks, it's taken a couple of years to decide to actually sell it. It's a great bike, but it's just sitting too much now.

As far as the Tenere:

Verboten1 Congratulations & commiserations on the sale of your bike.
A quick question about your Delkevic exhaust. They seem to be a reasonable quality / value option. They have several options for KLR can you tell which one you got.
I am wanting to make sure the Dunlop D606 wont rub & I also don't want the bike too loud, but would not mind loosing some of the weight of the OEM exhaust.

This is the 14” oval, I have the same exhaust on my Tenere as well. It’s much louder on the KLR, but I’m not sure if they have different inserts. I would go with a longer one for the thumper.

I have had it on the Tenere for 4-5 years and it’s held up well.

Thanks, will think about the 18" oval then.
My riding buddies just got Delkevic mufflers for their Africa twins, one of them has the shorter one it is quite loud at idle but does not seem too bad at speed.
Shame the website does not give a little more info, even if they were to just quote dB difference between options it would be something.
