I think the reason that Kawasaki doesn't install a gauge is probably because it wouldn't tell you a whole lot. The shape of the tank likely makes it difficult to have a gauge that would provide any accuracy. The trip odometer is the best fuel gauge. Another is just how sore your butt is getting on the seat. Fuel stops are great for getting off the bike.
