The AIS (air injection system-emission component) is the culprit in the decel popping. It can be blocked off, and the air injection valve disconnected. I can’t remember if that causes a check engine light, but just recently another Gen 3 member answered that (maybe in this thread). I ride a Gen 2 so I wasn’t paying close attention about the CEL being an issue or not 😉. I removed mine and the decel popping stopped.., but now I kinda miss it🤣. Good luck.
