Have been wanting to upgrade my rear brakes. So I've come up with the plan to swap over to a gen2 swingarm and brake system. My worries are if the gen1 rear hub will jive with it. I'm also curious if I would be able to run the same rotor. Thanks for any help in advance.

The wheel hub will fit exactly the same. But you will need a larger diameter disc from a Gen 2 bike also.

The GenII rear brake isn't really that much better/efficient than the Gen I, yet that darn 240mm rotor costs twice as much as the 230mm Gen I.
Choose wisely.

Have you upgraded front brake yet? If not, do that first, then decide if you need to upgrade the rear. The front produces 80% or so of the stopping force on the street, somewhat less in the dirt.
Two ways to go:
1. buy Gen 2 brake caliper and rotor.
2. Buy even larger 320mm rotor and a caliper and adaptor bracket. This is the way I would go if I had a Gen1.
