Pros/cons and opinions on either.
Both are for wussies..Rainier_Tom said:Pros/cons and opinions on either.
Those are the same Symtec grip heaters that KLRGunn linked to, just with a Dual Star "exclusive!" ad stuck to them and the Symtec label stripped off. You can get the same Symtec kit from your local motorcycle shop for around the same price, once you consider shipping.650freak said:I have the heated grips from Dual Star and I love them.
I've never had an electric vest, but on a recent trip to AK I was pleased with how well my heated grips kept me warm overall. I had them on high when it was cold, to the point where it was quite painful to keep my hands on the grips. But I think the blood got warmed in my hands and then returned to my torso warm, keeping me warm overall.KLR AK said:I also think electric grips work WAY better at keepin me warm than my electric vest that I've also been using for many years. IMO your torso is a lot easier to insulate with layers compared to your hands. MH
Ha, that's too funny! You're the second guy on here that I've met up here. The other being Jetdoc. I was really glad to show your friends around a little. They said it made them appreciate Anchorage a LOT more otherwise it woulda just been another "big" city. Take care, Mark H.650freak said:I've never had an electric vest, but on a recent trip to AK I was pleased with how well my heated grips kept me warm overall. BTW, KLR AK - I'm the KLR guy you met outside REI in early Sept - you went for dinner with my two Beemer buddies while I crashed for the evening in the hotel. Nice to meet you out there and we appreciated the hospitality!
