I'm with ya on the large group rides, too. It doesn't sound like that many people are going. Hopefully around the # you mentioned.

A little out of the way for you anyway, living in Evansville.

I can't help being a little excited, since I've only had my KLR for 2 weeks, and this will be the first chance to do some D-P stuff.

You probably have some good riding down your way!

I'll take some pics and post next week.

Have a great M's-Day weekend, Wanderer! :)

Shoot no, there isn't squat around here for the most part. Southern Indiana is pure crap for off road trails. HNF is off limits... well everything is off limits in Indiana. We have Red Bird pay area in Dugger, and Interlake (currently free) near Lynville. Interlake is being destroyed already, went there last week and the mudpits are growing on every main trail. I could ride for hours without any problem last Oct., now I had to turn around on every trail or drop the bike in to a foot deep of mud 20 foot across every 1/8 mile which I wasn't interested in doing all day. The wooded trails have already been decimated by the jeeps within a few months of it being open to the public. Interlake really has nobody in charge right now. I have a friend with a tractor and I told him if he brings the tractor I cover the gas and we may try to fix the damage the stupid worthless 4x4's have done. Might put up some signs "4x4 pricks quit F'n up trails or go home". I just don't know for sure yet if I want to bother cleaning things up since the desrespectful jerks will only destroy it all again. Other then that, I go to LBL which has quite a few unmaintained forest roads. LBL took a big hit during the ice storm so It's probably not going to be any good this year.

Yeah, IN sucks for legal off-roading! Had a couple ATV's for a while, but got back into bikes because it was too much hassle and effort to screw with loading, unloading, and driving with a trailer 1 1/2 to 2 hrs. for somplace to go.

Talking about ate up. Haspin Acres, near Laurel is REALLY bad. Tore up, eroded trails, trash, and 4x4 trucks tearing shit up.

I've been wondering about Haspin Acres for awhile. Never sounded like enough riding to justify traveling that far and now I know for sure. Looking at their photo page, it reminded me of Red Bird. Red Bird was a cesspool for quite a while and I heard a lot of families quit going because it became too dangerous for their kids. It's not a good scene when kids are at risk of dying/drowning on every trail. They have wised up within the last year and reworked the place and even made some MC only trails and some kid trails where they can learn and have fun also. I need to go up there and see what they have done.
