How do you refuel your motorcycle? Do you dismount or do you just remain sitting on it while refueling?
I'm surprised that you get it started, Tom!Ride up to the pump. Kickstand down. Petcock off. Gloves off and stowed. Wallet out, gift card out (I carry gas gift cards; all the convenience of a credit card but none of the hassle). Spin the cap off and stow it. Swipe the card. Card back, wallet back. Grab the pump handle, select grade, pump, handle back. Enter data into Fuelly. Zero trip meter. Cap back on, gloves on, petcock on, lean over and check oil level. Kill switch on, tickle the kick lever until it goes whump-whump, kill switch off, kick switch on, stomp on it, kick switch off. Kickstand up. Double check the wallet is back, ride off.
Get a mile down the road and check that the wallet is back.
I guess it's terminology, Paul! What I'm used to is calling a switch on or off by what it does. If a kill switch kills the engine, then it does so when it is "On". Turning the kill switch "Off" lets the engine run. I guess a better terminology would be "Turn the kill switch to "Run" or "Kill".I'm surprised that you get it started, Tom!
That right there is probably the best reason of all to totally dis-mount Every Time!
