I just go a used one and was thinking I can do some long strokes with steel wool. It just has a weathered look to it now but want to make it look new ish er =).

Have you tried very fine steel wool dipped in aluminum polish, like Mothers? Very fine steel wool works well I fine regular steel wool to abrasive but I guess that depends on how bad it is currently.

Ok great, good to know. I did see a youtube video someone used polish with a brush but I like your idea of the fine steel wool. That should make the slip on look like new.

If you have a buffing wheel you can bring it up so it looks like chrome. you can also use 2000 grit wet-dry sandpaper with a soapy water solution to take out deeper scratches.
