i live in nw montana and have seen my share of snow and ridden in some. If you've got a decent set of semi-agressive tread (not necessarily full on knobbies) and drop the airpressure down to say around 12-15psi, should be good to go as long as the snow aint' knee deep. I'm assuming you're trail or dirtroad riding and not highway.
Me personally, did not like it, ended up having to paddle alot of the time and fell alot but may have been my tires, or my fat a#$. But don't let me discourage ya, give it a try.
Hey, just go out and buy one of those conversion kits that replaces the front tire with a ski and the rear with a snow track, only costs around 3k bucks, what a farkle that would be.
I've done it several times, and still don't much care for it. If you are on public roads, the cars drive along packing everything all down and making it effectively into ice. My biggest fear isn't crashing, (because I know that is going to happen more often in the snow) but getting run over by somebody that doesn't see me, or can't stop.
I run a full knobby, last winter was the T63, this winter has mostly been the MT21. If I were smart, I'd stop cheaping out, and order a nice stud gun and stud up the tires. In the mean time, I know and understand my limits, I'll push them, but I always have an agreement that if things get far outside my comfort zone, I will park the bike and walk.
Side note: With a full knob, ditches and medians have far more available traction than packed snow on a paved road.

Seem to be similar to D606's but have better reviews are are near half the price, is this a good tire? Or is it too aggressive, or not aggressive enough?
