Greetings. My 06 KLR650 is only a couple of weeks old. First bike was a 1980 Honda Hawk 400cc 6 speed which I sold more than 10 years later. Second ride was a 1992 Honda Nighthawk 750cc which I just sold a couple of months ago. MSF basic riders course was required to ride on base and I swear by those skills a couple of decades later. I will do the doo as soon as eaglemike gets back from a CA tech day. No mods yet, though the first will be to mount the led strobe purchased from Dual Star (DS). The second mod will probably be the DS magnetic oil drain plug that arrived a day or so after my first oil change, around 200 miles. Mod #3 may be subframe bolts. First gas fill up yeilded 57 mpg. Very nice.

The best MPG that I have seen on a KLR was 68.
My wife and I returned from a ride and I did the math on my KLR and her KLR, we had topped off the tanks before we got home and I had to go over to her bike and open the gas cap and look for myself to make sure she had filled it up. She had!
I always got better MPG when she was following me. :?:
