Gotta' vent. This is BS. I have the last two weeks of the year off. It SNOWED here (North Texas DFW area) on Christmas and I'll be damned if it aint doing it again today! I have suited up a few times to ride lately but I HATE THE COLD. BS I say.

Hat's off to you riders in the northern climes, I don't know how you do it. I got cabin fever. Bad. Next year maybe I'll plan a ride through Baja.

I can ride above 40 when sun is out. 50 without sun. I'm not a fan of cold weather or rainy weather. It's both cold and rainy right now. So there ya go. Can't really complain though, it's been a mild Nov and Dec around here and I've ridden more then usual these months. Hope it stays mild going in to the typical worst months of winter.

Ahh, the Cali riders are conspicuously silent. Sorry brother. Hope you got a good book and some whiskey. I'm really enjoying the book you sent...learning a LOT. Gonna be ready to pass it on pretty soon.

Thanks guys. The forecast is for rain / snow this evening. I do have a book, Riding in the Zone; pretty good so far as a technical riding guide goes. But right now I feel far removed from “The Zone”. No whiskey left, but I have a case of Rolling Rock in the cooler. My personal forecast is for a “rockslide” this evening.

I’ve never ridden a snowmobile, gotta’ be a gas!!! Was in Montreal a couple of years ago and a guy we were working with had the Rotax out of his sled on the bench souping it up. Said he was looking for 150 MPH. Unbelievable, at 150 I suppose the last thing you think about is how cold it is, eh?

In my boredom and subscribing to the philosophy of “If it aint broke, take it apart and see why not” I pulled the right side cover to have a look at the oil screen. Nothing much to report, just a few bits of gasket material.

What was that noise, I thought I heard a rock tumbling? Time check….4 PM CDT (Central Drinking Time)

Cheers for the New Year!!!!

Flash, I feel your pain. We did manage to get out for a 200+ miles ride New Year's Day - on the Wing. And a 50+ mile ride on Sunday the 2nd. Bikes have been parked WAY TOO MUCH this fall and winter. It's one thing to be cold or wet, but a whole different thing to be COLD & WET!
