Well I just Cashed in the change jar. I have two teenager's my daughter graduates this year and it's college for her and my son graduates next year.!!!!!! needless to say I have hidden my come home and empty my pocket's jar. I took it to the bank today and cashed it in. Then I pulled out my wish list and I ordered an alum. skidplate,engine guard/hiway peg's, tankguard pkg. and a magnetic oil plug. I am stoked. Gonna go ahead and run out the dunlop's probably till mid summer. I guess I just wanted to share my excitement with you all.And I also wanted to put ketchikan on the alaska thread's.

Where did you order the guard package from? I'm getting ready to order one myself. Also is there any reason you went with the package you did? I just don't want to order one from somewhere and then find out EVERYBODY knew that one was junk but me!

HAHA Yeah well you can't alway's worry about what other people think. besides it's only mild steel anyway, and the skidplate is 6061 alum. nothing spectacular. I liked the physical appearance of the product, I was going to build my own but for the price I couldn't go wrong. I bought it from klr650.com They are made by studebaker. check them out on there website it's a nice design. I will take some pictures when I get them installed.

That's cool. I was looking at those but they're back ordered right? I ordered my doo from them but changed to happy-trail.com when I found out they're backordered. KLR650.com refunded my money no questions asked. They're easy to do business with. I have the dash plate coming from them instead of the doo. TPImotorcycleparts.com has the studebaker guard set too. I think I'm gonna get it from them since I think they're in stock.

I ended up making my own dash piece mainly for something to do I guess, there is a template on www.bigcee.com site to cut out your own

Hey, Im located up in North Pole. Bought my 05 Christmas of 07 from a guy who just moved doun to Ketchikan last Aug. Wonder if he misses the bike? Anyway I was wondering If KLR650.com shipped to you for free? Your closer to Washington than I am. I bought almost $1000 worth of stuff from them last spring and it was all shipped for free because I bought it in $150 or more chunks but I notice now they say no free shipping to Alaska any more. Kind of ticked me off and I havnt been back to there site for a while. I know it can cost more to ship to us in Alaska (UPS and Fed Ex) but if they use USPS (as they did) it is the same as shipping to anywhere east of the Mississippi. I still planned on spending alot more money with them but I wont if they charge me shipping but dont charge the guy in Florida. You seem to be happy with them (I was) and was wondering about your experience with there shipping.

I Deal with Brady or Amber and they ship u.s.p.s. to me and it is free. Next time you order deal with one of them and ask. yeah ups or fedex is expensive to us here also it goes to anchorage first and then comes back to us here. Befoer you place your next order call them, they are real easy to get along with good luck, stay warm lol

I put 4,800 miles on my bike this year that's pretty good for an island with 36 miles of paved road lol. Anyway I pulled the side cover and inspected my doohickey and all is well kind of what I expected.
