Klim Krios Karbon helmet w “pin-lock”

I am not a partial stock owner in this company but feel that all should know.... this helmet rocks! I luckily found mine on FB as the prices of these new are about 550-600 and I got mine w two shields for $200. The pin lock as it’s called has sort of a sheet of plastic that mounts to the visor. It makes a seal that won’t allow breathing/sweat etc from fogging the visor. I just tried the tinted visor for the first time and although I look like an alien haha I like how it has a nice tinted/don’t need sunglassss feel. I know this may be a bit more dangerous (where is that bike rider looking?) so I will probably shelf the tinted visor not sure yet.

I have to agree that KLIM makes some pretty nice gear but the $$$ puts it out of my reach. Lucky if you can find it slightly used for a good price. Wearing KLIM has become a status symbol. Waiting for the Chinese to make KLAM gear.😆

Yes I got lucky to find it but now looking back at initial post I said FB... I meant CList and I set the perimeter out to 200 mile range to find one I liked/good size. My friend was over and I showed him the new setup with the tint and as he is super old school he just said “nice... so you look like an alien now” jaha!

Pinlock is incredible. It's so nice not having to crack the visor now and then, or spend time using defoggers that work about 10% as good as their ads make them sound.

I washed my pin lock sleeve and then cleaned lightly with water and fine cloth but still got micro wiping abrasions on it. Maybe I will wash that with purified water and let it air dry next time.
I will provide a full dusting on helmet review after this Saturday’s ride with the DR of dirt (friend w DR 650) Haha

Still amazed at the anti-fog abilities of this “pin-lock” advancement in helmets.... 90 degree temps and major dust following my friend and still zero negatives to say about this helmet... the dust was pretty thick on the shield but I just blew of the access instead of ANY wiping of shield to not get scratches. It will get a nice tub of soapy water and air dry today as I am having a day off from riding.

I've got the Krios pro, I gotta say that helmet has been great. It definetly costs money, but between the pinlock, transition lens mine came with, easy to secure chinstrap and the light helmet weight it's worth it imo

I know! My old (really old school) helmet was twice the weight and would make all my neck muscles weak after riding bumpy off-road conditions but not now.
Update... do not ride w tint in the eve/dark. Ther is significant loss of sight and unless you know your roads like I luckily did the other eve it coulda been ugly. I recombined one brings clear goggles at a minimum or just a spare clear visor in your packs.
