Hello all!

I'm new to the forum, I bought a KLR 600 a little over a month ago as a last minute purchase to drive from London to Tuscanny with a friend, stopping off in the Alps to ride some trails. Bought it a week before leaving and it did me proud got me safely round europe.

Now i'm back in the UK and im giving it some TLC. needs a new chain and i think a top end rebuild as it drank about half a litre of oil for every hundred miles i put on it! and various other bits are going to be checked and replaced if neccessary.

So i was wondering if anyone had an e-copy of the parts list/fiche

Thanks!

Hector

First off...Welcome to the site from a fellow Bit....albeit a displaced one.....you'll love it here....a super friendly bunch of guys who will bend over backwards to try and help whenever they can to help you.
Personally I don't know if there is a parts list you are asking for.
But if it's using oil like you say....it's time for a new piston and rings. Plus perhaps some new valve seals. The guides don't normally need to be replaced, they seem to be bullitproof. I'm also not sure if you can use a 650 cylinder on the 600 engine to add a better bang and then also allow you to get the 685 kit to permanantly solve any oil issues.....it is a damned good kit. I ran one for 5 years without a single issue. It did die after I allowed stupidly dirt to get around the aircleaner, my mistake...doh!
I'm sure there must be a piston kit to fit the 600 if you search well for it IF the 650 cylinder is completely out of the question. Eagle Mike will be the person to ask about doing just this.....he has done so many he is the best person to get this info from I believe......

Again...welcome to the site and enjoy......:13:

Ditto on the welcome.

As to the parts list / fiche most online sellers of parts have them available. Don't know if that would include the KLR 600 though.

I use ronayers.com.

i know there are pistons kits knocking around for klr600 and would rather keep it standard. have heard changing to the 650 cylinder is quite a job and i really just want a quick fix and back on the road

Cheers
