does any one know if the flywheel on klr's has remained the same throughout the years?
I have a motor from the early 90's and have damaged the flywheel whilst apart.....dropped it and the inner magnets cracked and fell out. Am looking for a replacement and the local bike wrecker says that they changed the flywheels somewhere during its lifespan. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

90-95 Rotor/Flywheel #21050-1139 supersedes to #21007-1283, which is the flywheel used on 96-07.
So 1990-2007 flywheels should be compatible with your engine.
If I remember correctly, the 1996 and up flywheel is a little heavier, for a smoother running engine. I probably couldn't feel the difference.
