Hello, I have a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. I have a 2014 KLR that I was riding on the great divide ride when it started to use a lot of oil, as in a quart every 50 to 60 miles. I was on the way home so continued to dump oil into it to get home and made it 60 miles from home after dumping 15 quarts of oil into it in about 650 miles, before it finally fouled the plug. The oil was being burned as it was smoking like a forest fire out the exhaust, I checked the crankcase vent to see if it was being sucked out and it was not, air cleaner filter was not oil soaked or extremely dirty. Up until the plug fouled the bike was running ok at highway speed of 65 mph at about 4300 rpm. The bike has less then 5,000 miles and has not been overheated or run low on oil. any ideas?
