klx needle - what size main jet?

hi
I am looking to do the klx needle mod on my 2014. I have the following mods:
Lexx muffler
L mod airbox
K&N filter
MC mod (great mod!)
Derestrict
Desnorkle
Stock 148 main jet

I live on the east coast of Australia pretty much at sea level.
Questions:
1. Based on my current mods what size main jet should I use with the needle? I have that 142 is the go, but would a 145 be a problem?
2. How many turns of air mixture screw?
3. What needle setting/clip?
4.How do I know if it is running lean or rich?
Any help would be great

If it actually runs better at 7/8 throttle than it does at Full Throttle is may be because of to large of main jet.

Again, trial and error. People want to 'add too much' that the engine can't use.

Eagle Mike's KLX needle kit comes with a 140,142 and a 145. He will switch out the 145 for a 138 if you live at high altitude. I went with the 142 in my bike that has a Lexx muffler, Uni filter and the snorkel removed. It works really well now. Better response and no lean surging on the highway. If you are too rich the exhaust and sparkplug will be black. You are looking for a light tan color on the plug.
