I am trying to understand what you mean by exhaust copper washer. Other than that maybe some zip tie stitches on the lower part of your fairing to keep the crack from spreading. Take this "opportunity" to get your self some all metal foot pegs. Crash bars will be nice for the next time.

Sounds like he was working on exhaust gasket that's not 100% related to the accident.

The paint lines can also get slick when wet, bet to try to avoid running on them during a turn, also.
add to that anything metal like manhole covers or those large steel plates they use to temporarily cover road works. they're fine with something stable and 4 wheels but to much throttle or brakes from a 2 wheeled vehicle in the rain and it's like being on ice.

The copper crush gasket in the exhaust header port. His bike probably lost Both exhaust stud Nuts & the retainer flange was just rattling around the head pipe.

"Temporary pavement " allot of that around here along with cracks and bumps. Oh yea and gravel, my areas real big on sport fishing, as a result allot of boat trailers cutting corners kicking gravel into the road. One corner is real nice for the bike but there's a thick line of gravel right in the middle of the pavement. some days I felt like gunning it and staying in the clean area, but that's a horrible idea doing 60, and I have to remind myself that.

Once you get over 50 you start thinking about if it’s really worth doing the dumber stuff you used to do, because it hurts more/longer if you aren’t “as good as you once was”😉🤣 See photos below from 1989. Me and my best friend since 1981, @charlieellis19631 doing questionable things🥴🤣 View attachment 40609

For what it's worth, your L.H. Plastic is NOT way worse than my, 2022 I TIPPED over with the Bars Locked (learned about the lock THEN) as I went to leave the Barber Shop parked IN FRONT OF THE WINDOW on MAIN STREET! I had less than 200 miles on it and no mods yet! FRESH & FRESHLY BROKEN!

I'm running my BROKEN Plastic on my 2022 KLR with less than 500 miles on it right now! I've got many Scars, my Bike can have one too! Stainless Steel Wire "Stitches" are COOL! ;) (y)

I'm VERY GLAD to hear you didn't get hurt worse! I watched a Friend go down in front of me as a young rider. He was inexperienced and did a curve wrong at less than 30mph. He ate a Sign Post and got a Compound-Fracture of his Arm. His Dad was a Pastor and NOT a Fan of Motorcycles or those that typically rode them. It was NOT FUN AT ALL when you are 18-19 years old!

I wish you all the best my Brother!

Willie

PS

One of the guys mentioned Counter steer. Here's a quick video if ya want.... Counter Steering EXPLAINED 3 Levels Of Difficulty

I seem to have found the problem. Apparently my nuts where hand tight.. by the last time I checked them. Along with the 3ed bolt on the other end .
Obviously. They are set up to withstand vibration for thousand miles, there's really small chance they were removed by the crash.
You can probably find the replacement at hardware store. I think it's called acorn nut or blind cap nut.
