Just did a EM 685 top end and have a part left over I can’t figure out where it goes. Anyone recognize it?

It's the nut on the upper motor mount - sits on the backside of the lower bolt for the triangle motor mount -the lower bolt there goes through the boss on the head.

As Foo said, it’s the front bolt for the motor mount almost right behind and slightly above the valve cover.

As long as the “regular nut” didn’t come off some other location it was supposed to be on…it should work just fine.

Question ! Has anybody considered simply welding 3 nuts on the left rear plate to ease installation ? I know it's not very difficult to assemble the bolts, just seems it could be easier.

One would only need to weld one nut onto the bottom hole of the RIGHT HAND cylinder head Mount plate!
