Hey!

Just got my first KLR650. 2009 with some upgrades for longer ADV rides. I'm planning a trip down to Argentina in it.

I'm not too mechanically savvy and my offroading skills definitely need some improvement. I've got about a month before my departure with nothing but time on my hands to gear up and get better.

Wondering if there are any folks around central Texas who might want to go for a ride off road, or maybe a wrenching day.

Two Tweel Texan is a good place to find local Adventure riders. There are several dual sport rides planned in the area usually. One coming up first Saturday of the month. twtex.com
There is a place called Hidden Falls Adventure park if you really want to test your off road skills. it is outside Marble Falls, not too far from Austin.

I just picked up my 2013 last weekend. Probably won't be able to meet up before your trip, but maybe after you get back. I'm a fairly new rider myself and having a blast on my klr. Oh yeah...
