I spent most of the morning trying to decide what I wanted to do today. It was not just Christmas, but my first day off from the Tree Farm in over a month. I always feel a little lost when we are through for the season. We had made all of our family Christmas rounds to open presents the day before. My wife had to be at work at 3:00pm. It was too windy to go hunting. Why not go for a ride
The only thing I was sure of was that we needed to make it to my wife?s sister & brother in-law?s for lunch. They were smoking Steaks. ;) They live on the northern end of River Rd. which is also the NW tip of Lake Seminole. It is just a few miles to the Ga. Line from there house. I decided to ride around the lake. It is about 100 miles or so depending on the route you take.

My first photo stop

From there, I headed south. I past a restaurant we have eaten at many times. I didn?t mind them being closed, I was still too full from that smoked ribeye I had for lunch to think about eating anytime soon.

I have made this loop several times before with my Honda Shadow. It was my first on the KLR so I got to explore the dirt roads too along the way.

I could not resist

I checked out a few boat ramps

I headed down this one but after several water crossings, I turned around

The square at Bainbridge, Ga.

The last dirt road of the trip. I knew this road fairly well but it was still a little messy from the rain

Great report:

The water there, is it from recent rains, or what?

The reason I ask is because when we rode down to the Keys in 05 we were told that the hurricanes had dumped so much water inthe northern part of the state that some of the roads would never dry out. This was months after the hurricanes had hit, and knowing how low some of Fl is, it all seemed possible.

We have had a couple of fronts come through in the last few days. They were pulling moisture out of the Gulf of Mexico. Many times, SW Georgia seems to get most of the wet stuff. I know we did not get this much rain at home. (NW FL)

Hope you had a good tree selling season. Great pics, what kind of headlight system do you have on your bike. Looks like it lights up a pretty good area.........
