Hey, been lurking for a while and now. Ya'll have about convinced me to ruck up and get me one of these KLR 650's. Dealers here in SE GA can't find one so it looks like I'm the first guy on the list for a 2009 in these parts.WHAT changes should I expect, how much of a price differiance do you think I'm looking at????? I was quoted by a reputable shop $5100 on a 2008 if he could find one close...which ain't happening. I was told maybe Sept for the 2009...sound about right?????

Haven't rode in 25 years, but I'm looking at getting one for a work ride and some hunting too. The F250 is killing me on fuel, but I need it to pull the boat. So What a better excuse to tell momma (the savings in fuel) can a guy have to get a new toy!!!

Little about me..20 years retired(5 years ago) Army (scout) Currently running a haz waste yard. Licensed Capt for running charters off shore(OUPV) and do a bunch of fishing in the salt. Hunt the swamps hard here in coastal GA for deer, hogs and turkey. If all works out and I get this bike I'll be posting some pics of it in use carrying home some steak/ bacon!!

Studying for the bike permit now Should have that completed in a few weeks. Looking fwd to it.

Welcome aboard Capt. Glad to hear your in the market for a KLR. As for info on the 09's noone will know anything for another 2 or 3 months. My local dealer said big Kaw isn't letting any info out at all about the 09's till the dealer show in Sept.

Welcome. This is a good forum with very knowledgable guys that are always willing to help.

Check into the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Riders course. It may satisfy some of your licensing requirements and probably save a little on your insurance. Teaches you good basic skills and helps you unlearn some of the bad ones. I think everybody here will back me up on this.

Two things to remember always --- "All the Gear, All the Time" and "Ride Like You're Invisible".

You'll like the sisfiddy.
