Hello all I am a new member to both motorcycles and this page and found myself a nice 1999 KLR for my first bike. Mostly bought it so I wouldn't feel bad about dropping it and it's fun to go off road a little. Anyways I dropped the bike recently and snapped off the mirror at the threads on the electric box part where the signal and horn is but also more importantly bent the shifter. It still is workable but was wondering what good replacements there are. Thank you!

While on an extended trip on my 2008 I have removed a bent shifter, put one end in a opening in a big steel trash dumper and bent it back into a usable shape and finished the trip.

I think the gen1 shifters are less bendable/repairable, but what do you have to lose? I wouldn't try to bend it on the bike. You could mess up other parts of the shifting mechanism.

I wouldnt try to bend it on the bike either.
Easy to take off with a 10mm wrench. I put mine in a vice and either
bent it back out with my hands or a hammer.

Bought a Moose + shifter months ago and really like it.
Its about an inch longer than the stock shifter and I don't have that
first to second caught in neutral problem like I used to have.
