Hi been lurking for a bit looking to buy a KLR and this looks like the place to research the good bad and ugly of this bike and so far it's all good. I'm located in Ga. late fifty's haven't rode in awhile mostly dirt getting too old for much air anymore so I think the KLR is best for me. Thanks for a Great site!

drtrider,
I'm 56 years young, 3 feet of air under the '87 KLR doesn't scare me at all!
Thirty feet under the ole '89 KX500 is another story.

I call my KLR my grandpa bike, but when I'm riding it I love that I'm out riding on it! You read how old tech they are and how much they vibrate, but I have no complaints with mine.
