Pretty please???
It's great to have you introduce yourself, but we also would like to know where you're from, too!!

If you're shy, you don't even need to post your town, but at least what part of the country you're from.. That way people in your area can get to know you, or even better, meet you!!!

Greeting from the great Northwet! That’s Washington state for those of you not on the west coast. 😉 Proud owner of a 2012 KLR that has taken me to new adventures across the western states and the TAT. I’ve modified a few things on the bike as have most of you “old timers”. Doohickey done, rejetted carb, installed progressive shocks, installed FAST bars, grip warmers, gps mount, double take mirrors, Airflow seat cover, larger pegs, Leovince exhaust for more power, Eagle Mike thermobob, daytime riding lights to be seen, magnetic low profile oil pan plug, better engine guards and skid plate, headlight mesh cover, soft bags all around except for top case, and shorty levers. Probably forgetting something but I think that’s most of it. Ran the TAT in 2021 and it performed most excellently! It’s not ideal for long road rides but that’s why I have a bigger road bike. Love my KLR! Name’s Paul and I call Lake Tapps home.

New member here from Newfoundland, Canada. I just picked up my first KLR. It’s a new 2023 Adventure. I’m coming from a large cruiser. My wife was in a car accident and can no longer ride with me because of an injury. I thought my cruiser would be to much for me now as well so I down sized. So here I am. Looking forward to the new bike!

Hello all!! New member from British Columbia Canada. Heading out this weekend to pick up a really nice 08 KLR 650 with 25000k. Haven't been on a dual sport bike in quite a few years and I'm kind of excited to get back onto one. I've been eyeing KLR's for years and just couldn't justify a bike as long as I was using my quads, but I finally decided to pull the pin. Looking forward to reading through all the great info on the forum, and hopefully sharing my KLR journey with all of you.

Hi, I’m Scott! Just picked up my 3rd KLR. I bought an ‘03 new, had a 2000, now I just bought a 2009 that’s fully farkled. It’s the 4th bike in my current fleet joining a Royal Enfield Bullet 500, BMW R1100RT and a 1968 Honda CL90. I’m a lurker, not a poster but I’m pretty well versed on the KLR. Thanks for letting me back into the fold.
Welcome back Scott. Have a seat. The Koolaid is over there.
Hi....I'm Dave. I live near Charlotte, NC. I've ridden bikes of all types for about 40 years, but the 2001 KLR650 I bought this week is my first useful dual sport bike. A few years back I bought a chinese 250 just to try it out. I enjoyed the exploring I could do in western NC and also have other bigger travel plans.

so I bought this used 2001. price was cheap and it needs work, but the bones are good. It's mostly squirrely electrical stuff and a few things bent/broken. it might cost me about 500 to bring it back to where I can begin using it. I'm familiar with Kawasaki's as I rode several C10s for many years. I'm finding lots of clues that it was the same engineers doing the design work. :D

I probably won't contribute much other than snide remarks, but looking forward to learning from you guys who are experts.

Regards,
Dave

Welcome FNG Dave!

1) Great choice in Dualsport Bike! (edit - esp the Gen-1 +++)
2) Obviously wicked smart - as you've decided to join klrforum!
3) You're willing to learn from some other chucklehads who've been riding/wrenching on KLRs for decades.
