You probably already got one but if you did not, I would replace the stock oil drain plug with a low profile drain plug.

It sure is mate!...I live in the tropics and it is always hot, very hot or *&$#ing hot - if it was me I would drill more (small) holes in it to get more air flow over the engine. And for a bike that's nearly impossible to find at a dealer too. Stupid.
Kevlar would just splinter on a hard impact... as would carbon. The materials themselves are durable, but the resin is going to shatter. I'm not sure why anyone would choose anything other than steel or heavy aluminum for that specific use.
