I've been looking around to see if anyone has experience with these clutch plates in a KLR, but haven't turned up much. The only thing I've found here was a fella who had a seemingly unresolved issue with the plates cracking when he tried to install them. Anyone know if they're worth a damn?

No direct experience but a few guys over on the ADV Rider site have used Outlaw Clutches in their KTM and they are very satisfied with the product and have had no issues. For the price it's worth a try.

Yeah, I had seen those threads and that's what started me wondering if anyone had similarly satisfying experience with them in a KLR. I suppose if not, I could be happy enough being a pioneer of sorts; when I'm halfway around the world and reunited with my KLR, however, I'd rather not find that the clutch plates I've brought ain't gonna work...

How many plates are in the OEM clutch? I've just received the Outlaw kit, and I've 7 friction and 6 steel. Is that gonna work? It doesn't seem right to me.
