Around here, dealer hold over 2015 KLRs are going for $5300 before doc fees, taxes, etc. So probably, $6k out the door. I imagine elsewhere the dealer might be more motivated. But I don't think one could save too much more money than that. Tack on a $1000 in farkles and the cheapest one could get a similarly equipped new bike would be upwards of $6500.
Ultimately, however, it boils down to how motivated he is to sell. Offering too little, on the other hand, might both insult him and embarrass you.
