Question of steep off roading

665 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  New2kaw
When riding steep uphill off roads bike as normal runs alot hotter. When turning bike off when this hot it has buzzing sound like fuel pump still working. Is this a cool down process with a fan or issue with something else. Sounds nothing like fan running, just a buzzing noise.

Yes that is the fan running. If you hold your hand by the left fairing opening, you can feel the warm air coming out.
Going up a steep hill or setting in traffic will heat it up enough for the fan to come on. Normal!

It's the fuel tank gas vapors farting. This has been fooling gen 3 owners into thinking something electrical continues to run. It's normal.

Reveille is no doubt correct! I missed the part where you said sounds NOTHING like the fan running. I should know better than responding late at night when I am tired. SORRY!

Your bike looks amazing. Love how it just comes together with colors, crash bars, luggage, tires. Just looks will put together.
Thanks, like taking time with bikes building them. Wife just hates when i get done I sell them and start on another one. LOL!!

What skid plate do you have on there?
It's stock but putting Enduro engineering skid plate on. It helps protect the drain plug better from what I have read.
I heard this noise the other day. I kept shutting my bike down to enjoy the nature on multi mile downhill runs (also killing the bike via key defeats abs. Killing the bike via kill switch does not just fyi). I actually looked to see if the fan was on. It wasn't
