I just bought a cherry 2005 KLR and have restored the ride height to the original height. Now the kickstand is way too short. All the ones from ebay are in Australia or UK charging $40-50 for postage. Is there an aftermarket stand or a stand from another model/year that works for the KLR?

Thanks for any assist. My stand has to rest on 2x4 right now.

EDIT: I've already searched the forum but found no mention of alternatives.

Check the price of a Brand new stand from your nearest Kawasaki Dealership. Ride there when they receive it and install it alongside their building. Regular orders should be freight free to them and therefore to you at their parts counter.

Or take your too short stand to you local welder and have it lengthened. Members have used large All-Thread and lock nuts to make adjustable length side stands.

howdy Autoredial I understand that KLRCHRIS.COM is soon to offer an adjustable kickstand for the KLR. Don't think that it is on their website yet but they may have some ready to ship. Might send them an e-mail . Ride safe James
