I just finished Re-Building a set of saddlebag frames made from electrical EMT pipe.
These are for my Yamaha XT250, but I have a similar set on my 2011 KLR650. See below.

As the build process is almost the same, I thought it may be of interest to fellow KLR guys. I know they probably won't stand up to hard trail use, but for many of us, we don't ride that hard. I've a set on all my bikes. (NX250, KLR650, and XT250)
I've never had a problem with them in any way. ( I've dropped my KLR several times with no bending, or breaking.)
Best of all, These cost around $25.oo to build.

Here's a pix of my KLR with the saddlebags on them..

Here's the video on how the ones for my XT250 were built..

Built a set out of same material years ago for the KLR with my brother. I’ve since sold the bike I built them for but my brother is still using his. Taken a few tumbles and stand up fairly well.

Frames

Those look great.
I didn't know EMT could be welded. Makes for nice clean build. Wish I could weld.
