Hey guys I live in Tijuana and would like doing some short weekend runs with other dual sport riders. I have actually started a group called Baja Adventure Riders. if you are interested in Riding some backroads in Baja and eating some cheap fish tacos leave me a message on Facebook or send me an email. Lets get out and have some fun.
facebook name is james jesse and my email is [email protected].

If you are uncomfortable riding into Tijuana I can be waiting on my 08 klr at the border.

And.....I wish I still lived in SD. TJ never scared me. Probably should have, but it didn't. Funny. Everyone has to have a cell phone to go to the store lest something evil happen now. We used to cut school and go down to TJ for beers and make it back in time for football practice.

Yea, TJ has never scared me either. I have been coming here since I was 16. And now I live here. Got a nice place near the Beach with a garage for my KLR. Most of the Cops and Federales know me or my bike and they just let me pass.
I would really like to do some weekend rides and look for some old towns or mines and stuff. Find new places to grub cheap and just enjoy riding with others.

I see that guy that wrote the book "two wheels of terror" sometimes in the red zone. His name is Glen Hagsted. Now he rides a BMW but when I met him the first time he was on a Klr and I was on a Harley. Harley just don't cut it down here for long.. or atleast not where I want to go.

best wishes to all:46:

I'm in, too!

I ride in Baja quite a bit and there's an awful lot of area left to explore.

Glad we have a local pro on board!

One of these days I will go on one of these Baja trips. Its just a pain to go through the rigamamoro of paperwork required by my employer to cross the border.

Is your group riding this weekend?

I just sent you mail to introduce myself. I am interested on getting involved with an active group of riders in the Tijuana, San Diego area. I am myself heading South for a 6 to 9 day trip this weekend (5/20/17). If possible I would like to take this opportunity to meet some of you along the way. If you guys don't have anything planned in the short term please keep me in the loop so I can get to know you on a future ride.

Sounds like fun!

What is needed now to cross over and back? Last time I went to TJ was well over 25 years ago. Passport?

Technically, you should have a passport (book or card). SENTRY is great, but that's a lot of work.

Truly, all you need if you are a USC is an oral declaration of citizenship. Accompanied by a solid photo ID is even better (state DL).

Anything less and it'll take time on primary or secondary inspection.

Don't show up with a faded and torn baptismal certificate...that'll also guarantee you some quality time with CBP in secondary inspection.

I just hosted a Kiwi who flew into LA, bought a bike and rode solo through Baja. He loved it. No problems at all, except some minor language issues.

You'll still need to get the applicable tourist visa & insurance (but no TVIP).

Have fun!
