Thanks a bunch for the info on the introductions thread guys, I went through and followed the given instructions and this bike is unbelievable. I have spent far too long riding my wife's DT 175!!
I was riding the KLR yesterday hit a little jump the kids built and the rear shock lower bracket snapped clean in half?!
I weigh in at 120kg so that may not have helped but it looks like the shock may have been on its death bed to start with. I have been sending emails out the wreckers but its looking pretty grim. I am a little afraid to call the dealership in town to ask a price. any advice? or anyone with a donor bike out there? I am in geelong near melbourne aus

Which piece are you looking for? I did a quick search on ebay and am finding a bunch of shock mounts for varying prices. Of course, I'm in the states so I don't know how bad you get hit with shipping and such.

hi, Thanks for the response, the part that snapped is the y shaped yoke at the bottom. I dont know if i can get this bit separate or will have to by the whole rear shock. the cheapest I can come up with in aus is $400. I was looking at the shock earlier and it is leaking oil out of the shaft. i may just have to bite the bullet and fork out a bunch of hard earned.

I see a whole shock off a '91 for $70
