2016 KLR650 Camo
I been reading about speedometer accuracy on the forum, and don’t understand why a sprocket charge on a Gen 2 would affect the speedo. My best friend just bought a 22 ABS model and said the speedo runs off the rpm of the engine. I can understand sprocket swap affecting speedo readings there, but my understanding is (and from following the cable) on my 2016 a sprocket swap shouldn’t affect the speedo, because it’s driven by the front tire. Is there some kinda voodoo going on, or electrickery (I learned that bit of vernacular here 😎) going to the speedo from the engine on the Gen 2 that affects its readout based on rpm, like the Gen 3?
