Is there a wear gauge for front and rear sprockets?

I am replacing both sprockets if needed.

No gauge that I know of.

When sprockets get worn the teeth start to take on a hook shape:

Normally you should replace the chain and both sprockets as a set. Putting a new chain on worn sprockets will accelerate wear and visa versa.

The good news is that you can flip the KLR's sprockets over to get twice the life out of them if your chain is in good shape.

A wear gauge should be easy to make for the person who has a CAD program and a scanner. Print the results on thin flexible plastic with a hole in the center and a slit at any point from the outside to the hole. This would allow the rear sprocket to be checked with the wheel mounted. The front should only need a hole in the center. Bet the person making these could make a buck if they were priced properly.
