The fork diameters are the same, I've put cogent ddc and springs in my tengai, you'll have to cut the spacers s bit more as the B fork is shorter.

Yes the rear shock is shorter too! But aside of that you can put an A shock on a B that make it a bit taller!

Interesting. The reason I asked is...I have used 1-1/2" lowering links on all my Gen 1 KLR's (with forks slid up an appropriate amount in the triples). And I use a shortened side stand. But with the same links installed on the Tengai the bike does not seem to lean far enough when parked. A shorter shock would explain this. I have never found any dimension information for the shocks so I've never been able to confirm a difference between the A and B models (only that the part numbers are different, if I recall). I guess I should shorten the side stand, not sure how much though.
