Hey Pals,

Just took delivery of a 1991 Tengai. I'm about to have it go through a roadworthy to register it, and it's fuel tank has a large spot of rust and a tiny leak in the bottom left corner.

I'm looking to replace the tank, including any reasonable tanks from overseas - I'm based in Australia.

Does anyone know if a standard Gen 1 tank will fit on a tengai, with the addition of the mounting brackets for the fairings?

Cheers

I have restored many old Harley's and British bikes....
I have always taken rusty/leaking fuel tanks to a local radiator repair shop, never been turned away and the chemicals they have do a great job removing rust..

Just a thought..

Cheers for the idea, Gordon.

For the record, this is what the tank looks like right now.

On the Tengai I purchased I use Metal Rescue to clean the tank. This is the second bike that I have used it on and have had great success at removing rust and old fuel.
