I guess I need to order the Eagle Mike Electric 954 Upgrade Motor Kit. I wonder if he can overnight it and I can get it installed for Friday's ride?

Wayne has provided some Information from Cherohala Mountain Trails Campground about the gas situation in the area:

Athens and Madisonville is spotty. Gas limits presently in Tellico Plains.

I am going to try and bring some gas with me. We may have to ride in the campground for 30 minutes then hang around the campfire the rest of the time... ha!

Me and Chris have decided to forgo the Friday ride. There is not a station within 6 miles of me with any gas. I was luckily able to fill up Tuesday morning in the Expedition, but I don't really want to take the chance. I will see y'all at the Blue Ridge Run. Unless we keep declining into socialism, then I will retreat to the compound in the mountains.

Glad I decided to come up for the Friday ride. We had a great time, hate Tom had to bail because of a slick rear tire. Hopefully the easy ride group had a great shopping trip. (You all know who you are) hahaha

Made it home safely at about 1:30 pm. Had a great time! Wasn’t the weather fantastic! It sure was good to see everyone again. Maybe I’ll catch you fellas again at another ride this year.

I should have caught up with you and left Kirk to lash it on his bike, but I panicked when it fell in the road and all I could think about was getting it out of the way before a car ran over it! And thank Kirk for strapping it on his back until we could stop and load it into one of Jim’s panniers. So you see, it was a team effort! Glad you got it back ok!

Thanks for the photo of the McFarland concrete “alien landing pad”. I’ve been there several times, but have failed to get the GPS cords for it. Does anyone have those coordinates so I can mark the location on my maps?

Steve, I told Scott to tell you not to worry about your pack, that when we found it we made sure to go through it and remove anything of value from it!

Thanks for the pic, John.

This is a nice video of some of the McFarland history....and also an old pic of the community. My group went down the town's old roadbed a short ways this weekend. In past weekends, we have taken the road all the way until we hit the tracks.
