I have this weird vibration that happens right at or just above 3k rpm. Both going up and coming down. Is less noticeable if accelerating hard.

Any thoughts?

In neutral?

Clutch in or out?

Does it happen in every gear?

Setting still or moving?

Have you owned a single cylinder bike before?

Info that will help figure it out my friend....

In gear, going down the road clutch out. Last about a second.

Haven't tried sitting still, in neutral etc. will do that later.

Happens in all gears as far as I can tell.

At first I thought it some sort of surge perhaps fuel system related. All my one cylinders before were 2 stroke.

Are you shifting @ 3K rpm or below? If so you're not really in the power band and it could be you feel the lugging of the motor. Try winding it a bit higher before you shift. I usually shift between 4.5 - 5k rpm. I don't ride in any gear (except first of course) much below 4k.

I usually shift 3500 or above, putting through town is when I notice this the most. Coming off the main road and putting through in second or third through what constitutes traffic here in SoVT.
