Well, the KLR crowd did some cross forum meeting this weekend when KLR Mike and Big Rigger stopped up in Ohio to say hi to a bunch of folks who are on ADV rider.

Really nice guys, the type of people you wish you always got to meet on rides. ;) Mike was able to make it back for the actual ride Sunday, but Big Rigger was working I think and Kays' KLR got cold feet!
Half the fun of getting to the camp was making it up this!

That hill was slick as snot and real steep. I think the is Big Rigger walking down.

There were 7 KLR's and of those 6 were red!

Some of our more adventurous riders did some crossings in the swollen creeks. Meezhaf, tried a deep spot and ended up in the drink. This is him after barely making it to the other side. He fell in on the way back.

Four of us had to leave early, but we made it as far as West Virginia before we headed back. Good ride and I hope to make it down that way again to see my new friends.

Nice, was it mainly off road riding you did, or was there some asphalt involved. Any more pics?

It was all on roads, but a lot were gravel like those in the pics. Blimpman posted a report in midwest with more photos.

OK , I know -a whole week later and I am just now posting to this thread---well, what can I say--I waited the whole week before this ride to see if a girl could go and Mike checked on Saturday and the guys said
Oh yea, she can come" I was so happy   I was even willing to ride far enough behind the rest of the guys for people to comment "Oh look, one more going by-figures-it's a girl!!" I just wanted to go ride and meet these guys  and put some faces to names-----Woe was me  ---took my bike to the neighbors the night before because we didn't know if the creek crossing (on our driveway)was going to come up overite to the point we wouldn't be able to cross sunday morning--so, sunday morning I gear up and get my rainsuit on and we go to the end of the driveway and my bike won't start   It's pi$$in the rain down and Mike shoves me and gets it started once and after a bit when I put it in gear she dies !!! She gave up the ghost after that and just backfired when I tried to start her--she obviously had something wet she didn't like  after 20 minutes I told Mike to go without me    I was so bummed  No sense in him missing out on the fun. Well, Mike came home that afternoon and Meefzah came with him--some hot coffee and a blackberry turnover later he left and Mike rode part of the way with him showing him some extra trails over our farm and some backroads. Well, guys -all I can say is I am sorry I didn't get to meet ya--big ol Buildit-blimpman-and the rest of ya--and then there is Holycaveman---man-I need some closure here---he has me baffled--I know the holy part is for him being a christian biker but the caveman part has me---does he live in a cave??I had questions for him!!!!! Did that culvert look like home????? What was that????? Was he following the light??? Well, whatever it was I enjoyed the videos----in the dry!!!!!!
Needless to say my bike started right up later that day with no hangups---meant to be I guess---culvert exploration wasn't on my list anyway  hey, hey, next time I'll be there with bells on!!!! Kay

That's good Kay, I'll have to tell him that, he'll get a laugh! However, since he isn't here I'll tell you it has to do with his simple living arangments and method of food gathering. Think simple and bow & arrow. When I first heard about him I thought it had to do with a local State Park called Old Mans' Cave?
As far as Meefzah, I hope he behaved himself.  Hope to make it down there myself some time to ride some of Mike's trails. Meefzah was impressed and gave them a thumbs up. Otherwise you can come up to Columbus and see what flat looks like! ;)

Hey Buildit---as for columbus--been there- done that. I like my hills and hollers. My 14 year old thinks I am a curmudgeon because I like to stay home on the farm. Yes, Meefzah was on his good behavior-I didn't expect anything less. I even offered to throw his wet things in the dryer but he manned up and refused--though I did read on another thread he got a wee bit cold the last leg home. I can't imagine how cold you all must have been that were wet thru and thru--which was most of you from what I could tell. I get hives from the cold sometimes -especially damp cold so maybe my bike had some ESP when it came to that  Anyway, I 'm gonna be there next time or bust!!!! :h0158 Kay
