I’ve hit 98 on GPS. But I’ve been caught doing 80 in a 45. It was an empty 4 lane highway, and I thought I’d give it the beans. Full tuck and pin. Unfortunately I’m still young and dumb

An old thread that I missed back then, wow. Had my mind on other things. Thats alright tho, because I got lucky and my maximum speed (has increased) since then.
112mph indicated, down-hill with a tail wind! I have seen 105 mph indicated a few times on flat land.

Hit 70 ( 77 showing) on a county farm road today. Packed gravel/dirt.
Heck, I've seen 90-95 mph (indicated) numerous times on semi-packed gravel & dirt out here in the wide-open / desolate spaces of WY!

I’ve pushed my 2913 to about 90 (actual) on the interstate. The bike is not happy at that speed and feels skittish. 70-75 is about as fast as I feel comfortable with it, but the great majority of my time is below 70.

Toney will be asking you, if you are a time traveler also.
I'm not sure humans will still be around then. I regularly watch the news so my hope for mankind is wavering.

PS: 90 MPH on interstate. Bike was not happy! KLR's are not build for land speed record attempts.

On the road, I've seen 97 indicated on an isolated section of US 50 across Nevada. But even with 16 or 17 t countershaft sprocket I prefer to stay under 85 indicated.

Gravel, seen about 95 indicated while chasing Ian and CA-Stu down Warm Springs Rd and West Side Rd in Death Valley. Alas, those younger lads were running 685 BBK and I had stock bore.

I “pushed” it with my throttle hand. If I had used my legs, it would have been faster. 😁

I made a run at Bonneville. It wasn't very fast. Hardly worth getting out on the salt.
