Hey, first of all any help would be much appreciated,

Alright, well my KLR has been running perfect since i bought it this year,
then yesterday I went to take it for a ride and started it as usual, with the choke on, as it warmed up, I was unable to cut the choke, it just stalls.
It will not run at all with the choke off.
At first I thought it might be bad gas, so I drained and refilled with gas I have used before, same problem.

Now I'm thinking the carb might have some debris or something plugging the jet.
any ideas?

I agree with your idea, sounds like you have some junk in it, sounds like in the idle jet area, its not getting enough fuel to idle. Will it run ok above 3000 RMP's? You can try the Berryman's or Seafoam method first before taking the carb apart to clean it. A gallon of gas, half a can of one of the cleaners. Run the fuel out and do it again. If that doesn't fix it, will probably have to remove the bowl and do a clean.

I'm in the process of removing it at the moment, It's not the easiest procedure haha.
as for draining the gas and using a cleaner, It does not run out very well when I attach a tube and open the valve, I'm just going to take the bowl off and I'll be back.

Im also wondering if it could be a simple choke issue?

Sounds like a plugged pilot jet to me. Only way to be sure to fix it is to disassemble and clean the jet, the quick cleaners may work sometimes but without disassembly it is impossible to know if the jet is fully cleaned out or just opened up enough to function but not at it's best.

alright, It's really clean.
not clogged at all, but when I took it out I noticed that when I cracked the throttle the pin was not moving at all, and as far as I know, its supposed to move up and down right?

I'm just going to take it in, I have no other idea's

alright, well i took it apart again, with help from my dad,
and cleaned it over again, its running better than the day i bought it new.
it looked perfectly clean from the start, but im assuming it was just dirty.
Either way all is good, thanks for the help people.

I had the same problem with my 07 black KLR. I followed the advice of this forum and after taking the side panels, seat, coil bracket, accelerator cable bracket, and gas tank off and loosening the carburator clamps for and aft, I simply rotated the carb to the right and took the bowl cover off. Then I unscrewed the jets and sprayed them and the holes they came from liberally with carb cleaner, replaced them and then reassembled in the reverse order. Now my bike runs as good as new. Excellent advice you guys.

Place 2 #4 stainless steel washers under the OEM Main Jet Needle. This raises the needle allowing a bit more fuel flow and increases the throttle response. If you already have a carb kit there is no need for this.

Thanks D... got any pictures of the hole i need to drill on the inside of the carb? i will not drill any holes until i am certain i am drilling in the right spot. see after market exhaust thread. also what will drilling this hole do for me.
