Been following the blog for a bit. Great stuff. I had been in contemplation for a while now. Pulled the trigger on a 09' based on the enthusiasm from you all finally. Seems to be a good pile. Handles well for a pig off road.
In south west Wyoming where there are plenty of non asphalters to explore.
Thanks for all the contributions. Greatly enjoyed!
Keep on being being! :character00201:

AWESOME!!! Another patient for the mental hospital!

Yeah, we're all a bit nuts for the KLR here - and that's just fine. It's always best to share your mental illness with people who have the same illness...

If you ever wander over toward the desert / mountains west of Salt Lake City, send me a PM or message and if I'm not working that day, I'll be happy to go for a ride with another insane KLR rider!

Nope. I don't go to Little Sahara. When I refer to the "West Desert", I'm referring to the area out along the Pony Express Route - out in B.F.E.

There are several different old mining areas out there, as well as just the history of riding the Pony Express Route on your iron pony. I've only ridden part of it, but I've driven over 100 miles of it into the boonies. It's kinda different when you think how it must have been for those riders during the 18 months the Express was in service - riding through all different types of weather, threats of bandits and hostile Indians, etc.

Riding out that way is on "the list" for things I want to do - and if my son has the time off, he'd probably tag along on his own KLR. If you want to see where he's been riding, look him up on Instagram: ravenlocke13

He spent about a year over in Laramie, and rode all over the Snowy Mountains.
