Amherst, VA to Salem, VA

I work my part time job up in Amherst. I rode the KLR up there in the morning so I could be there by 11am. I was Hoping I could make it home before the sky opened up. It had started sprinkling by 10:30pm. I got off just in time for a soaking all the way home. The klr did well. The Givi bags kept all my stuff dry got to get sleep.

That's a novel way to clean the mud off from Boblett's Gap. I'm going to use a garden hose.

You could have stopped at the T-Room to dry off had it not been a Sunday

Not sure what that means. Sorry. You mean the T-Room on Big Island Hwy?

Oh, I was referring to the OP's route. Figured he took 29 to 460 on the way back.

The T-Room is the Texas Inn at Main and 5th (although I think technically its Rivermont on that side of 5th St)

Yep, 29 to 460. I was a dripping wet puppy when I got home. I don't know Lynchburg super well. I know the main roads such as 501, 29, 460, Campbell, Timberlake, etc.

If you want to have a taste of "old world Lynchburg" cuisine, stop in there one time for a cheese western. They are open late, except Sundays. All you have to do is take 29 business through Madison Heights rather than the bypass and once you cross the James, the TRoom is there on the right. From there its is very easy to get back onto 29S and head towards 460.

I believe there is a similarly named eating establishment in Downtown Roanoke, but its been quite some time since I have tooled around down there. I moved from Lynchburg in 2001.

The Texas Tavern and the T-Room are just alike. I wonder if they are owned by the same person? Get a cheesy western and a bowl with.
